Day 01 : A Mellow Adventure Along The Streets Of Colombo

Upon arrival, you will be met by a Perfect Leisure representative and tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Colombo for an overnight stay. Colombo, Sri Lanka’s largest city and former administrative capital, is a vibrant mix of modern life and colonial heritage. Located along historic East–West sea trade routes, it has been known to traders for over 2,000 years and became the island’s capital under British rule in 1815. Today, Colombo is the country’s commercial hub, with corporate offices, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Day 02 : The Adrenaline Rush Begins

Departing from Colombo, journey to Kitulgala, Sri Lanka’s premier adventure destination along the Kelani River. The day features guided canyoning, abseiling, cycling, and white-water rafting. After breakfast, a 15-minute uphill walk through lush rainforest leads to the canyoning start point, where you experience natural slides, jumps, and rappels amid pristine wilderness. Continue to waterfall abseiling before returning to base camp to refresh with a shower and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy white-water rafting on the river, featuring five major rapids and four minor rapids.

Day 03 : Trekking and Cycling

After an early breakfast, explore the Kitulgala rainforest on a guided nature trek. The Kelani Valley Forest Reserve, established to protect the region’s rich biodiversity, is home to many of Sri Lanka’s endemic flora and fauna and is ideal for spotting rare birds such as the Sri Lanka orange-billed babbler, chestnut-backed owlet, blue magpie, and red-faced malkoha. In the afternoon, enjoy a mountain biking adventure around the scenic Kitulgala area.

Day 04 : Cultural Adventure

Depart early for Kandy, the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and explore the city’s rich heritage. After breakfast, enjoy a city tour including Kandy Lake, built in 1806 by King Sri Wickrama Ranasinghe, the bustling town and bazaar, arts and crafts centers, and other notable attractions. In the evening, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, located within the Royal Palace complex, which houses the revered relic of Buddha’s tooth—an object historically tied to the governance of the country.

Day 05 : Train and Cycle

After breakfast at the Eco Lodge, you travel from Kandy to Nanu Oya by train, enjoying one of the world’s most picturesque railway journeys through mountains and tea-covered valleys. Upon arrival, you explore Nuwara Eliya, the hill country city known as the “City on the Plain” or “City of Light,” situated at 1,868m (6,128 ft) with a cool, temperate climate and famous for tea production. After checking into your hotel and resting, you embark on a 2.5-hour cycling tour through the tea plantations, reaching the edge of the hills and enjoying breathtaking views.

Day 06 : Plains and Mountains

After breakfast, visit Horton Plains National Park to trek Sri Lanka’s second-highest peak, Kirigalpoththa (7,838 ft). Located on the island’s highest plateau at over 2,100 m in the central mountains, the park features misty peaks, grasslands, marshes, icy streams, lakes, and waterfalls. Kirigalpoththa and Thotupola Kanda, the country’s second- and third-highest peaks, offer challenging trekking routes with rewarding views. The area is rich in endemic flora and fauna, including colorful butterflies, rare resident and migratory birds, and wildlife such as sambar, bear monkey, barking deer, giant squirrel, fishing cat, wild boar, hare, and rare leopard sightings.

Day 07 : The Sacred Mountain

After breakfast, travel to Nallathanniya and check into your hotel to rest before the late-night climb. The ascent begins around midnight to reach the summit of Adam’s Peak in time for a once-in-a-lifetime sunrise view. Pilgrim season runs from December to May, when thousands of pilgrims climb nightly along a lit pathway, creating a rich cultural experience. Outside this season, the trail is unlit and quiet, offering greater serenity and adventure while retaining the mountain’s natural beauty.

Day 08 : Wildlife Adventure

From the hills, travel to Uda Walawe National Park and check into your hotel. In the evening, enjoy an elephant safari in the park, which covers 31,800 hectares and was declared a national park in 1972. Surrounded by mountain ranges, the park features grasslands, shrub jungle, wild teak plantations, and is sustained by the Uda Walawe Reservoir and the Walawe River. Renowned internationally for its large elephant herds, the park is also home to deer, wild boar, wild buffalo, jackals, and occasional leopard sightings.

Day 09 : Under Water Adventure

After breakfast, travel to the coastal town of Hikkaduwa for optional snorkeling and surfing. Home to a marine sanctuary rich in natural corals and tropical fish, Hikkaduwa offers excellent snorkeling to explore its colorful underwater world and vibrant fish shoals.
